Leaving a Lasting Legacy – Part 4

By: Donna Martin

Couples can leave a positive legacy for their family by praying daily as a couple and as a family.

Pray daily with your spouse from your wedding night to your last breath.  Pray with your family every day and at every meal that you eat together – at the family table, on a picnic, at a restaurant, at celebrations.  Even pray as you ride in the car or walk in the park.  Pray everywhere and all the time.  1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to “Pray without ceasing.”  You can never pray too much.  The prayers you pray for your family will continue on after you are gone.  God is not bound by time and even if we do not see the results of our prayers He continues to answer them for generations to come.  Jesus prayed for us when He was on earth. (See John 17:20-23). If our heavenly Father prayed for us shouldn’t we also pray for our spouse and our children?  Pray scripture verses for your spouse and for your children.  Praying God’s word is powerful.  Leave a legacy by praying as a couple and as a family.
